Shipping/Receiving Service Operator

Summary:

This position’s main responsibility will be loading/unloading all incoming and out-going freight received at the Shipping docks. Other responsibilities will include: maintaining warehouse organization and cleanliness, staging finished goods and pulling required inventory for shipments.


Description:

•Responsible for maintaining fork truck daily inspection sheets and keeping propane tanks filled as necessary. •Responsible for unloading incoming freight and checking piece count against driver’s bill of lading. •Responsible for delivering freight received to supply room if necessary. •Responsible for preparing rolls that require palletizing for shipping. •Responsible for pulling and staging designated rolls for customer shipping. •Responsible for marking rolls against pick list when necessary to assist other team members in meeting departmental goals. •Responsible for loading out-going freight. •Responsible for assisting other service operators in pulling rolls from racks and physically loading truck. •Responsible for helping during bi-yearly physical inventory count. •Responsible for hitting weekly cycle count scanning targets of finished goods material. •Responsible for assisting with final scan of rolls before material is loaded onto a truck. •Responsible for assisting with bringing material into FG warehouse for restocking. •Responsible for assisting with maintaining 7S in FG Warehouse. •Responsible for following standard procedures for ensuring that the right material is shipped to the correct customer in the required quantities. •Maintain loading of off quality fabric on truck as needed. •Perform any other duties as required by supervisor or team leader to support department goals including some data entry.


Qualification:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred•Must have fork lift certification or be able to obtain license.•Must have good written, verbal and organizational skills and be able to make low level decisions. •Must work well without close supervision. •Must be able to work overtime and weekends as necessary to support the department.
