This position is responsible for installations, repairs, and maintenance of plant electrical, pneumatic and electronic equipment in accordance with applicable national, state and local codes. Equipment includes both high and low voltages; AC and DC electrical control systems, using PC for troubleshooting when necessary. Responsible for reading and understanding schematics, blueprints and diagrams. Also, completes maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment as necessary.
• Uses various test meters and test equipment to detect and diagnose electronic control circuits such as oscilloscope, volt/ohm meters. • Uses complicated blue prints, schematic and diagrams to install and service electrical systems; both production and utility power supply and wiring for both AC and DC. • Installs service power and transformers, distribution components and systems, both low and high voltage • Cuts, forms and shapes conduit • Installs conduit, pulls wire, completes all connections and executes required testing prior to energizing circuits • Accomplish maintenance and repairs on all electrical, pneumatic and mechanical equipment and systems in plant • Accomplish maintenance and repairs on boilers, steam equipment and repairs on plant water lines • Specifies repair and replacement parts • Accomplishes each assignment with quality workmanship and uses tools of the craft with skill • Assist other maintenance personnel in performance of their duties- electrical, electronic, and mechanical. • Follows all Safety procedures and maintains good housekeeping practices • Performs preventative maintenance as directed • Must work other shifts as directed by Maintenance/Environmental Manager. • Must be on call to help in emergency situations and/or as directed by Maintenance/Environmental Manager. • Any and all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance/Environmental Manager. • Must use the lock out/ tag out procedure • Ability and Knowledge to follow SNA Policies, Safety Rules and Regulations • Ability to communicate with coworkers, shift leaders, and management clearly • Join in Team cost savings and department meetings • Have a knowledge of ISO 14001 Programs
• Two year college degree or 4 years equivalent experience • Licensed Electrician in North Carolina preferred • Must have computer, PLC experience and knowledge • Must have strong knowledge of AC and DC circuits • Must be able to be trained to operate a forklift • Must be willing to work indoors, outdoors, and in adverse weather conditions • Have no restrictions to prevent working from ladders, scaffolds or industrial building rooftops. • Must Pass Maintenance Aptitude Test
