Knitting Operator 3rd Shift

Summary:

This position is responsible for patrolling and operating all knitting machines utilizing quality & safety guidelines.


Description:

Responsible for patrolling knitting machines: front, behind and on above platform (on DNB). • Responsible for repairing broken ends • Responsible for keeping up with doff times and doffing knitting machines • Responsible for all related paperwork as well as entering in appropriate information in computer system (waste) • Responsible for keeping up with length of defects and cutting out, weighing and appropriately marking waste and reporting to lead person. • Responsible for checking machine speeds and runner lengths and roll lengths at the beginning of each shift. • Responsible for warping out machines • Responsible for flagging machine for mechanic when machine needs repair • Responsible for general housekeeping around assigned knitting machines. • Perform other duties and help out where needed as requested by knitting team leader or knitting supervisor. **$1500 SIGN ON BONUS** **MEDICAL AND DENTAL NO COST TO EMPLOYEE ONLY**


Qualification:

High school degree or equivalent preferred • Very important to have good written & verbal communication skills • Very important to have low-level decision making skills • Important to have good organizational skills and have ability to work well without close supervision • Important to have good analysis/problem solving skills • Very important to have basic mathematical ability • Somewhat important to have basic computer skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee will work in a plant environment where they will work near moving mechanical parts, and on occasion, fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals.
