Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for inspecting various types of fabric using different machines per the specifications listed under the required Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each specific fabric type.


Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Inspect fabric according to specifications on SOP • Enter information for each batch into the computer and print labels/piece ticket for each roll/batch. • Verify that information in system and on SOP is current for each roll- (I.D. each roll according to SOP) • Cuts and tracks samples of fabric (as needed) for testing • Color-check Pre Lam Batches prior to Pre Lam Inspection process as necessary • Batch import fabric rolls and push to Lamination staging area. • Clean work area daily and perform other duties as directed • Must Pass Munsell Color test upon hire/or before transfer and once a year there after • Performs other duties as assigned by management


Qualification:

QUALIFICATIONS: • High school degree or equivalent preferred • Prior fabric inspection preferred • Important to have excellent written communication skills and have ability to make low level decisions • Somewhat important to have good verbal communication skills • Somewhat important to have high level decision making skills along with organizational and customer service skills • Must have some ability to work well without close supervision • Somewhat important to have a high level of mathematical skills and strong analysis/problem solving skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. They will regularly lift up to 25# and sometimes exceed 50#. This employee must have excellent close and color vision along with good depth and peripheral vision and have ability to adjust focus.
